This air conditioning upgrade to a 200,000 S.F. high school was completed in 2012. The HVAC system consists of two water-cooled magnetic bearing, chillers located in a new chiller room adjacent to the existing boiler room. One chiller serves the gyms and auditorium and one chiller serves the classrooms. Chilled beams were installed in most classrooms with the existing air handler systems upgrades to provide outside air to the chilled beams. The existing Airsan ceiling supply plenum was found to be inadequate to pressurize the chilled beams so separate pressurization fans were added in the ceiling plenum to serve the chilled beams.
